Reports circulating online claim that an 18-year-old football player named Ethan Carter was fatally shot in Baltimore, Maryland, prompting concern and mourning among those who may have known him.
According to the information circulating, police allegedly responded to a shooting shortly before 3 a.m. and found Carter suffering from multiple gunshot wounds inside a vehicle. The reports further claim that he was pronounced dead at the scene and describe him as a promising young football talent who played at the EDGE position.
However, these details have not been independently confirmed by reliable current news reports or official sources. Searches of recent Baltimore Police Department information and current reporting did not establish that an 18-year-old Baltimore Ravens player named Ethan Carter was killed in such a shooting.
Recent Baltimore reporting has documented a separate fatal shooting at Leon Day Park during a youth football event. Police said 12-year-old Khloe Ishway was killed after gunfire erupted between two men, with several other people injured. That incident is unrelated to the claims about Ethan Carter.
There is also a publicly documented Ethan Carter, but available records identify him as a 19-year-old from Hudsonville, Michigan, who was involved in a federal firearms case—not as a deceased Baltimore Ravens football player.
Because of these discrepancies, the reported shooting death of Ethan Carter should not be treated as confirmed without an official statement from the Baltimore Police Department, the Baltimore Ravens, the University of Alabama, or Carter’s family.
Any genuine loss involving a young athlete would be deeply painful for family, teammates, coaches, and friends. Until reliable confirmation becomes available, condolences and statements about Carter’s alleged death should be shared with care and without speculation about the circumstances.
